Tasks and Notifications Platform

Challenge

As part of the large-scale digital transformation of the Croatian Tax Administration, APIS IT needed to upgrade and extend a shared platform component for managing tasks and notifications across the Tax Administration information system.

The platform had to support automated task creation, assignment, tracking and closure based on events from multiple ISPU subsystems. It also had to enable both automated and manual creation of notifications, ensuring that the right information reaches the right tax officers at the right time.

Beyond functional upgrades, the system needed to align with APIS IT development standards, integrate with existing identity, registry and data platforms, and support reliable operation in a complex enterprise environment.

Enable Centralized Task Management

Solution

Kodilion supported the development and upgrade of the Tasks and Notifications subsystem within APIS IT’s Java-based enterprise technology environment.

The solution enables application subsystems to create tasks and notifications based on business events, while the shared platform handles assignment, visibility, and lifecycle management. Tasks can be automatically assigned to the appropriate tax officer, tracked through resolution and closed once the relevant business process is completed.

For notifications, the platform supports both automated generation from connected subsystems and manual creation by authorized officers. This gives the Croatian Tax Administration a unified way to distribute operational information across teams, roles and organizational units.

The work was delivered in line with APIS IT standards for architecture, development, documentation, testing and deployment, with a strong focus on maintainability, security and integration readiness.
